Grant loves the water so we decided to go swimming at the pool for his birthday. After dinner we celebrated his birthday at home and he got to have a cupcake. He sure knew exactly what to do with it this time and pretty much ate the whole thing! Even when he's messy he is still so handsome and huggable. Happy birthday Grant!
Grant turned ONE!! I can hardly believe how fast the time went. He is so busy and loves to get into the kitchen and make a mess. His absolute favorite toy is a ball, and he loves to throw it. He is enjoying his new Lightning McQueen car he got for his birthday. He says mama, and ba for ball, but still hasn't said Dada yet. Happy birthday to the boy with many nicknames: Baby boy, G-Man, Bud-Bud, Buddy, Butch, and Lil' Dave.
We were in Tehachapi for our 11th anniversary so we didn't get a chance to celebrate until the following Friday. Jeremy took me out to dinner at Donovan's steak house. It was delicious! My dinner came with creme brulee and they brought us another one since it was our anniversary. We were so full! It's hard to believe it has been 11 years already!
Grant totally loves going to the splash pad! One time we were there I didn't bring his bathing suit and he wanted to crawl around in it so bad that I just let him go in his diaper. This time I brought his suit and he had a blast.
Since a lot of Jeremy's family and my parents and brother were in Tehachapi, we decided to celebrate Grant's birthday a week early. I made a "Very Hungry Caterpillar" cake. I think it turned out pretty cute. Melissa was so nice to decorate the dining room with balloons before we arrived. Grant absolutely LOVED his cake. He would have eaten more, but Jeremy didn't want him getting a tummy ache. He opened a lot of cute presents and had his cousins help him do it. We tried to get a picture of Damon, Braxton and Grant together, but they are too wiggly! Grant took his first steps on August 8, and then again on August 11 and took more steps at Grandma and Grandpa's on the day of his birthday party, August 12. It was a fun time!
